Converging New Finance Techniques: Renewables, Efficiency, and
Demand Reduction
March 21, 2007
Teleconference 12:00-1:30 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time
30 minutes of Q&A will follow at each of the 27 Host Firm Locations
in the U.S.
Our next National Teleconference will be on the topic of Converging
New Finance Techniques: Renewables, Efficiency, and Demand Reduction.
Policy makers and investors are recognizing that energy efficiency
measures and renewable energy technologies have certain similar
attributes when it comes to solving the nation’s energy
and environmental problems: they have little or no emissions
and are carbon-neutral or better; they are wholly domestic and
secure; they require significant up-front capital investments
but relatively little ongoing operating or input energy costs;
and they must struggle for acceptance in today’s business
climate. Investors are awakening to the profit potential in the
promotion of their complementary use. The panel will discuss
what is and can be done, from public and private perspectives,
to encourage both efficiency and renewables with similar policy
vehicles.
