Zero Waste Westchester

The toothbrush you use in the morning, to the clothes you wear, the paper you write on, the packaging you get your stuff in, your phone, your car – all of these add up to your material footprint. When you are done with them, you throw them away.

But we know now that there is no “away”. The raw materials that we extract from nature are finite, but we have treated them as if they are unlimited and that extraction and final disposal has no negative consequences.

Sustainable Westchester is inviting our member municipalities, residents and businesses to join us in working towards a “Zero Waste” approach to this challenge.

To provide a framework to support this, we are organizing a common online platform for municipalities to connect with residents – read more here. Passionate about this vision? Join the Zero Waste Advisory Committee – click here.
