As a senior level, seasoned professional, Maria Genovesi brings decades of experience driving strategic growth and brand visibility for nationally recognized companies and their Blue-Chip clients. She has extensive experience in integrated marketing and brand building, media and advertising, content development, research/analytics, promotion, and event development, as well as media and public relations. Maria also has a full range of experience in new business and partnership development, as well as all aspects of sales support and development.
Prior to having her own marketing communication consulting practice, Maria was the Director of Marketing at Vogue and Victoria magazines. Earlier, she began her career in media at a top tier worldwide ad agency. There she earned a Vice President’s title and was responsible for nationally recognized brands with multi-million dollars in billings. She was recognized for her leadership ability and was awarded a place on the agency’s new business team and was responsible for the media department’s internship program. Maria is thrilled to bring these skills to Sustainable Westchester where she hopes to make an impact on driving awareness and building the brand’s equity with its member municipalities and their residents.
A 27-year resident of Rye, Maria has volunteered with the Rye Nature Center and Rye Historical Society in various PR, marketing, and event planning roles. She was also a part of the steering committee for Sustainable Playland and her sons’ elementary school anti-bullying campaign, accomplishments along with the raising of her two sons of which she is very proud.
