Energy Advisor

Daniel Zitomer

Daniel joined Sustainable Westchester in March 2026 as a program intern, becoming a full-time Energy Advisor in the Building Decarbonization department in April 2026. He is committed to supporting New York State’s transition to clean energy and to making that process affordable and accessible.

In 2025, Daniel earned his Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science with a minor in Music from Northwestern University. There, he worked as a researcher and GIS analyst with the Systems Analysis Research Group, building a national database of environmental impacts from the heavy mineral mining industry and co-authoring “Life cycle inventory data for critical mineral mining: recommendations and new U.S. data compendium.” That analytical foundation carried into his internship at Argonne National Laboratory, where he developed a similar database for the wastewater treatment sector.

Outside of work, he spends his time cycling, mountain biking, birdwatching, and cross-country skiing. He can frequently be found riding at Graham Hills Park or skiing in Ward Pound Ridge Reservation.
