Local Schools Participate in the #CrushCarbon Competition to Combat Climate Change

Make your school a sustainability leader! Schools can enroll in an electricity demand response program to reduce carbon emissions and earn funds. Click here for a printable flyer to present to your school.
Enroll your school
Introduce GridRewards to your school’s principal or facilities department. The Sustainable Westchester team can present how demand response can benefit your school and integrate with your schools energy management system. The meeting can include a no-obligation analysis of your energy usage and potential participation earnings.
Promote to your community
Join our Earth Month marketing cohort and encourage family and peers to download GridRewards. The CrushCarbon Challenge seeks to encourage local families to reduce their electricity use during peak energy periods by utilizing the GridRewards app. Through synchronization with the family’s ConEd account, the GridRewards app issues notifications to users, guiding them on the optimal times to minimize electricity consumption, a few times over the summer. Your club/community group can:
- Reduce carbon emissions and promote environmental stewardship
- Earn Funds: Get $10 for every family in your district that enrolls.
- Win the #CrushCarbon competition and earn a $1,000 grand prize and county-wide recognition.
- Save Money: Enrolled families save an average of $70+/year
