Attendees Explored New Opportunities in the Green Economy

On June 18, 2025, Sustainable Westchester, in partnership with Westchester County, hosted the Clean Energy Job and Resource Fair. This event was a powerful demonstration of the region’s investment in the clean energy sector and a shared commitment to building an inclusive, sustainable workforce. With 344 attendees out of 410 registrants, the fair reached its highest attendance yet, highlighting growing interest in high-paying clean energy careers and the renewable energy industry.
This was more than a job fair – it was a launchpad for opportunity. Attendees engaged directly with clean energy employers, training providers, and community organizations offering pathways into the green economy. Social media outreach, Spanish-language presentations, and word-of-mouth proved highly effective in driving attendance. More than 25 local partners contributed to outreach efforts, ensuring the event reached youth, women, immigrants, disadvantaged Community residents, and other groups that have been historically excluded from the clean energy transition.
The event featured 30 tabling organizations representing a wide range of sectors within the sustainable energy workforce. Employers and resource providers shared information about open roles and training programs related to solar energy, HVAC, geothermal systems, electric vehicles, building electrification, and more. This hands-on engagement helped job seekers discover both entry-level clean energy jobs and advanced career pathways.

One of the day’s most powerful moments was the panel discussion, “Empowering Change: Turning Challenges into Clean Energy Opportunities.” Moderated by Noam Bramson, Executive Director of Sustainable Westchester, the conversation explored how collaboration among employers, educators, and communities can advance a more equitable clean energy workforce. Panelists included Kevin Brenner of Healthy Home Academy, Dave Mancari of Brightcore Energy, Kaela Mainsah of the New York Power Authority, Raya Salter of the Energy Justice Law and Policy Center, and Paul Presendieu of WE ACT 4 Change. Their discussion addressed real-world barriers to entry, workforce readiness, and the role of community partnerships in expanding access to clean energy jobs.
Live feedback from attendees confirmed the panel’s impact. Many participants shared that the discussion clarified career pathways, boosted confidence, and revealed how they could contribute to the clean energy transition. This event would not have been possible without the dedicated partnership of Westchester County. Their leadership in climate action, economic development, and environmental justice continues to strengthen the region’s role in the green economy.
As interest continues to grow in fields such as solar energy, HVAC installation, energy efficiency, and EV infrastructure, events like the Clean Energy Job and Resource Fair remain essential. They provide visibility into the renewable energy workforce, connect residents to opportunity, and build the foundation for a future powered by clean, resilient energy solutions. Together, we are preparing Westchester for a workforce that reflects the diversity and potential of the communities we serve.
