Green My Power

Simple, Transparent, Green

Sustainable Westchester brings you another innovative way to support the clean energy transition and join your neighbors in making the choice to contribute to a more sustainable future.

Green My Power enables electricity customers, who want to support clean energy, to directly access the renewable energy certificates that big companies and organizations use to offset their power usage and support clean energy goals.

Green My Power is the first program that brings Westchester communities together to promote renewable energy investments by offering a transparent, trackable and inexpensive REC program for both household consumers and businesses. Click here to visit the Green My Power portal.

What is Green My Power?

Voluntary monthly
subscription

Subscribers pick a plan; PowerMarket buys and retires RECs on their behalf.

Each REC = 1 MWh
of renewables

RECs are the standard way U.S. utilities and businesses prove their electricity comes from renewable sources.

Green-e®
certified

Each REC has a unique serial number, independently verified by the Center for Resource Solutions.

Green My Power Municipalities

Municipalities can join in too! Many municipalities have favorable rates for power from the New York Power Authority, but would lose that if they were to seek renewable supply from ESCO suppliers. Green My Power provides a way to support green energy without changing suppliers.

Adding Green My Power to the municipal sustainability program is simple, and each Westchester municipality will have its own dashboard capturing the progress of the community efforts to promote renewable energy.

Green My Power for Businesses

Green My Power makes it easy for businesses and organizations to join the community efforts to promote renewable energy. Whether you are a larger firm guided by your company’s ESG plan, or a local business looking for an energy option that aligns with your values, Green My Power can get you up and running quickly.

National vs. NY RECs

While both represent the injection of clean energy into the grid, National RECs are not credited within the New York registration system, and so please note:

Green My Power RECs are sourced from renewable energy facilities located throughout the United States. They cannot be used by an ESCO or other load serving entity to satisfy compliance obligations under New York’s Clean Energy Standard or to offset usage as part of a retail renewable electricity supply product offered in New York.
