Three Workshops at Yonkers Senior Centers
Sustainable Westchester’s EnergySmart Homes team and Liveable Communities co-hosted D.I.Y. “Do-It-Yourself” Energy Kit sessions at three Yonkers senior centers this winter. Around 100 attendees received a free D.I.Y. Energy Kit ($80 value) and a tutorial on how to use the items in the kit, which included 2 LED light bulbs, window insulation, weatherstripping, foam tape for windows/doors, door sweep, foam outlet & switch gaskets, and a power strip. Sustainable Westchester staff also provided information on savings programs (HEAP, Empower+, and GridRewards) and incentives for large home improvements such as heat pumps, insulation, and appliance upgrades.
