New Community Solar Program Offers NYSEG Customers Guaranteed Savings, No Cost to Join

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y., August 6, 2026. Sustainable Westchester has launched a new campaign to enroll NYSEG customers in a community solar program that guarantees monthly savings on their electricity bills. There is no cost to join, no equipment to install, and participants can cancel at any time with no penalty or fee.

These savings are available to anyone who pays a NYSEG electricity bill – regardless of income status, or if they are a homeowner or renter. 

The program allows participants to receive a portion of the savings generated by a local solar project, guaranteeing e savings of up to 5 percent on their electricity costs – which are applied directly to the participant’s monthly NYSEG bill. Customers do not need to install panels, and they do not need to make any changes to their homes.

“Community solar is one of the simplest ways for our neighbors to save money and support clean energy at the same time,” said Tom Watson, Executive Director of Sustainable Westchester. “There’s no cost to join, nothing to install, and no risk. You subscribe, and the savings show up right on your NYSEG bill. Programs like this prove that the shift to clean energy can be practical and affordable for everyday households, not something reserved for the future or requiring a big investment.”

Beyond the savings, community solar helps build clean energy where people live. The program supports regional renewable energy development and clean energy jobs, reduces reliance on fossil fuels, and improves long-term air quality across the area.

Spots in the program are limited and available on a first come, first served basis.
