Dan Welsh

Dan Welsh has been a core team member with Sustainable Westchester and its predecessor organization, the Northern Westchester Energy Action Consortium (NWEAC), since its formation in 2009. He was a part of the original team that created the Energize NY initiative and served as vice-chairman of the NWEAC Executive Committee. Dan then served on the Sustainable Westchester formation steering committee. Since September 2016, as an employee of Sustainable Westchester, Dan’s responsibilities include business operations and program development for Westchester Power, New York State’s first Community Choice Aggregation Program (CCA).

In his earlier career, Dan worked for Chemtex Engineering, building their local presence in China and overseeing marketing and contracts for the plant construction there. Prior to coming to Sustainable Westchester, his focus was in IT, working in database/web programming at Air Age Publishing and data systems management for Harrison School District.

Dan is a lifelong Westchester resident, born locally in Peekskill Hospital. A member of the Lewisboro Town Board since 2008, Dan led the effort to establish the first “Complete Streets” policy in Westchester and co-chaired the Sustainable Westchester Transportation & Land Use Committee. He raised his family in Westchester County and has dedicated himself to environmental concerns in the County.
