What Can We Do?

EnergySmart HOMES (previously called HeatSmart) helps residents learn about energy efficiency upgrades and cleaner ways to heat and cool their homes, access vetted contractors and simplifies the path of financing the work. Bring climate friendly, cost-effective clean heating and cooling solutions to homeowners in your community with EnergySmart HOMES.

Westchester County
Municipalities – EnergySmart
HOMES Westchester RFI
is Live Now!

RFI SUBMISSION DUE DATE JUNE 1, 2021

Would you like to bring climate friendly, cost-effective clean heating and cooling solutions to homeowners in your community? The next round of EnergySmart Homes Westchester (ESH) is open for applications from Westchester Municipalities!

The objective of ESH is to significantly ramp up the rate of clean heating and cooling (ie. geothermal and air source heat pump) system adoption and energy efficiency in participating
communities in Westchester.

By building and servicing a demand for clean energy options in home heating and cooling, the ESH Westchester Program seeks simultaneously to displace high cost heating fuel while lowering local greenhouse emissions.

Consider applying for the next EnergySmart Homes Westchester campaign! To be eligible, applicant municipalities must, 1) be members of Sustainable Westchester; 2) be located in the region impacted by the ConEd natural gas moratorium.

How can I get my
municipality involved
in EnergySmart HOMES?

Option 1: Request a presentation, flyers/materials for distribution, information for your website, a banner for your community and more.
Contact Lauren@SustainableWestchester.org

Option 2: For those looking to establish a EnergySmart HOMES campaign, a 28-week community outreach campaign with the goal of dramatically increasing the number of existing clean heating and cooling installations in their municipality, the next RFI for communities is posted below.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Once the HeatSmart Westchester Community is selected, Sustainable Westchester will begin the process of selecting CH&C installers through a separate Request for Proposal (RFP) process. The selected CH&C installers will provide, at a minimum, competitive pricing, home CH&C assessments, collaboration in community outreach, and installation services. The selected HeatSmart Westchester Community and selected installers, with support from Sustainable Westchester, will develop and implement an approximately 20-week community outreach campaign with the goal of dramatically increasing the number of existing CH&C installations in the HeatSmart Westchester Community.

CONTRACTORS: Contact Lauren Brois (914-242-4725 x122) for information on becoming a preferred installer.
